WA360: Day 2 Plan – a View of the Sound

The reason we wanted to push for  Blake Island on Day One was to set us up for Day Two. Barring any weather complications, conditions should be perfect to hit the Tacoma Narrows near max flood. If we time it right, we should be able to ride that current all the way to Eagle Island.

Leg One: Blake Island to Maury Island Marine Park

After Launching from Blake Island, we’ll paddle towards Maury Island Marine Park to take our first break.

Leg Two: Maury Island Marine Park to Eagle Island

From Maury Island Marine Park, we’ll launch shortly after slack and ride the flood for nearly 20 nmi to our next break at Eagle Island.

Once we get to Eagle Island, we’re a very short hop from Soundview Camp, where we plan to sleep. Our relatively early landing for the day should allow us some wiggle room if we can’t make it all the way  from Maury Island Marine park to Eagle Island in one push.
